Az újonnan induló Osiris Diákszótár sorozat első köteteként megjelenő Helyesírási szótár elsősorban a 10-18 éves korosztálynak szól. A szótár alapvetően az 1984-ben megjelent és jelenleg is érvényes akadémiai helyesírási szabályzatot, a szakmaihelyesírási szabályzatokat, illetve a különféle helyesírási szótárak alkotta hagyományt követi, az azokban foglaltaknak nem mond ellent. Célja, hogy a diákokat segítse írásbeli tevékenységük során úgy az iskolai munkájukban, mint a mindennapi életben. Aszótár mintegy 40 000 szócikkben több mint 200 000 szót, szóalakot, kifejezést, tulajdonnevet tartalmaz. Ehhez járul 13 000 elválasztási és mintegy 5000 kiejtési minta. A kötet az Osiris Kiadó Helyesírás (A Magyar Nyelv Kézikönyvtára 1.) című köteténekSzótár részén alapul, annak egyszerűsített, rövidített változata. Az egyszerűsítés azonban ebben az esetben nem jelenti azt, hogy ne lenne megtalálható a kötetben minden, amire a diákoknak az írásgyakorlatban szükségük lehet.

A gyerekeknek készült képes szótár több mint 1300 érdekes, színes rajz segítségével ismerteti meg a legkisebb nyelvtanulókkal az idegen nyelv alapszókincsét. A kötet szókincsét a szerzők úgy válogatták össze, és rendezték 36 témába, hogy az felkeltse agyerekek érdeklődését, és kapcsolódjon a mindennapi életükhöz.
